CELTIC: BELLAMY SPEAKS ON POSTECOGLOU

Former Celtic striker Craig Bellamy has stated that Belgian outfit Anderlecht tried to lure Ange Postecoglou to the club just before he was named the Celtic manager last summer. Welshman talked about Anderlecht and Postecoglou while he was on the Central Club podcast recently. According to him, Anderlecht manager and Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany wanted the current Celtic boss to join up with him and his coaching staff at Anderlecht.

Welshman Bellamy spent the second half of the 2004/05 season at Celtic and he went on to become the u-21 manager at Parkhead before leaving to join ex-Manchester City teammate Kompany at Anderlecht. CELTIC BOSS EXPECTS TOUGH MOTHERWELL CLASH

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has set his sights on navigating a potentially tough league game at Motherwell to pick up the three points at stake. Postecoglou warned his players to expect a difficult game against hosts Motherwell on Sunday in the quest to build on the impressive Old Firm Derby win over Rangers earlier this week. The Celtic boss talked about how difficult the Motherwell game could be in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash.

Looking ahead of the game, Postecoglou said they have had to get to their current position by battling their way through and the former Australian national team manager doesn’t expect less when he takes his Celtic players to face Motherwell. According to him, they have not gotten to the top of the Scottish Premiership table due to one set of conditions or performance. He further said that Motherwell are a good side with ambitions of staying in the top half of the table as far as the Scottish Premiership log is concerned.

CELTIC RENEW INTEREST IN SIGNING DEFENDER

Scottish Premiership giants Celtic have renewed their interest in signing Derby County defender Lee Buchanan during this month’s transfer window. This is according to the report from Derbyshire Live which stated that the Derby County left-back is in high demand and that the duo of Premier League side West Ham United and Scottish club Celtic are back in the running for him during this winter transfer window. Celtic and the Hammers had previously been linked with the player.

Buchanan is attracting interest from other teams apart from Celtic and West Ham United. The likes of Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, Belgian top flight team CercleBruggeand Premier League team Watford are also interested in the 20-year-old while teams in the German Bundesliga are not left out.

LawrieMcKinna is a former player/coach and he’s certain that Australian international midfielderMooy would be a good addition to the Celtic squad under their new manager, Ange Postecoglou.

McKinna expects Mooy to make a seamless transition from Asian football to Scottish football since he already had an experience of football in the Scottish league from his time at St. Mirren in addition to the fact that his family is settled in Scotland.

Dundee United goalkeeper Ben Siegrist is reportedly in talks over a new contract at the Scottish Premiership outfit amidst transfer links involving Europa League campaigners Celtic. This is according to the report from the stables of the Daily Record which stated that an agreement over a new contract is not a done deal.

Swiss shot stopper Siegrist is attracting interest from the south of the border as revealed by the abovementioned media outlet and he’s not the only Dundee United player linked with a move away from the club ahead of the January transfer window. FURUHASHI IS FOCUSING ON CELTIC CAREER

Japanese international KyogoFuruhashi has revealed that his focus is on getting things right at Celtic and that he’s not thinking about a move to the Premier League. Furuhashi talked about focusing on the Premier League in an interview with Japanese commentator Takashi Mizumuna. The  Celtic star was interviewed while on international duty this month.


Celticattacker Furuhashi also expressed his delight at the positive start made by national team colleague TakehiroTomiyasu following his move to Arsenal in the summer. Tomiyasu was recently voted as the best Arsenal player in the month of September by the fans to highlight the excellent start to his Gunners career. He has helped Arsenal to record three clean sheets in his first four games since his transfer from Italian Serie A side Bologna at the end of August. New Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has his work cut out after he led the former European champions to defeat in his first Old Firm Derby. The Ex-Australian national team manager was in the dugout as Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 at home to continue their recent good record against their rivals.

With the recent defeat to Rangers, Postecoglou has now lost two of his first four games in the Scottish Premiership having been made the new Celtic manager this summer. EDOUARD STILL WORKING TO SEAL EXIT FROM CELTIC THIS SUMMER

Celtic Football Club striker Odsonne Edouard is still very much interested in the idea of leaving the Scottish Premiership club this summer after his proposed transfer to Leicester City fell through some weeks ago. English Premier League side Leicester initiated a move to sign the France international striker this summer as Brendan Rodgers insisted he was going to bolster his forward line at the club but Celtic put the English club off by placing a huge transfer fee on his head. After several attempts to negotiate a cheaper amount for Edouard without any success, Leicester decided to drop the move and went for Patson Daka instead.

They completed a signing of Zambian international striker Patson Daka from RB Salzburg for a fee of around £23 million and the 23-year-old has been tipped to make a huge impact at the King Power Stadium this season. Edouard is said to be frustrated by the fact that Celtic did not allow him to seal his dream move and he has now decided that he would not be signing a contract extension and is now willing to run down the final 12 months currently remaining in his contract at the moment.

Leicester City are closing in on the transfer for highly rated Red Bull Salzburg striker PatsonDaka according to the latest reports coming out the English media. The specific publication from the stables of the Daily Mail reported that the Foxes are closing in on the £25m signing of Zambian international Daka after talks to sign Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard stalled.

Celtic are said to be demanding £25m for Edouard despite the fact that he has one year left on his contract with the Scottish Premiership giants. Celtic are demanding a big sum due to the 40% sell-on clause that French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are entitled as part of the transfer that took the Frenchman from the club to Celtic.

LEICESTER CITY CLOSING IN ON CELTIC STRIKER

English Premier League side Leicester City are proving that they are not joking around this summer and are indeed very much interested in the idea of bolstering their squad. The Foxes have been busy in the past few weeks after already agreeing a deal for Soumare and they have not stopped there. While they are also close to agreeing a deal in principle with Tarkowski, they are now nearing a deal for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

They opened talks for the striker some days ago and have already progressed significantly as they are already coming close to agreeing a fee with the club after already agreeing to personal terms with the player. Celtic are said to be demanding around £18 million for the striker and Leicester are said to be willing to pay that amount, meaning that a deal could be agreed, signed, and delivered for the striker in just a few days from now or in the next week the latest.
