New Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has his work cut out after he led the former European champions to defeat in his first Old Firm Derby. The Ex-Australian national team manager was in the dugout as Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 at home to continue their recent good record against their rivals.

With the recent defeat to Rangers, Postecoglou has now lost two of his first four games in the Scottish Premiership having been made the new Celtic manager this summer. He was appointed the Celtic boss after the club could not agree a deal with ex-Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.

Celtic started the new league season with a 2-1 defeat at Hearts but were able to avenge the result in the Scottish League Cup second round which ended in a 3-2 victory. The first league win for Celtic came emphatically in the second Scottish Premiership game of the season via the 6-0 thumping of 10-man Dundee FC at home and the same scoreline was recorded in the next league game. For week three, Celtic thrashed St. Mirren 6-0 at home though the visitors had to play the majority of the game with a man down.

Rangers inflicted the second league defeat of the new season on Celtic thanks to the second half strike from Swedish central defender Filip Helander. He scored the only goal of the game midway into the second half to give Celtic a 1-0 defeat at the hands of his team and also give Rangers the bragging rights as far as the Old Firm Derby is concerned.

The second half strike from Swedish defender Helander ensured that Rangers continued their good form against Celtic. They have now won the last three games against their Old Firm Derby rivals and are unbeaten in the last seven meetings dating back to December 2019.
