Callum McGregor expects to make it for Celtic soon

Callum McGregor hopes that he will be in the team for Celtic in next month’s game against their fierce rivals Rangers. He missed the last year semi-final game against Rangers and would want this time to be on the side.

McGregor told reporters that he is keen to participate in the big games and that games against Rangers are always special. He stated that his best memory as a ball boy was the goal scored by Thomas Gravesen in a game against Rangers. He is however determined to make his own memory on the pitch should he get a chance in the team for the next game.

The midfielder who was convicted of drunk driving recently missed several games as he waited for the court decision. During this time, he received full support from Ronny Deila, the Celtic manager. Callum McGregor wants to repay the faith placed in him by the manager by putting in some excellent performances during the remaining games of the season.

He stated that the support given by the manager was instrumental in helping him come out stronger of the problem he has been in. The manager encouraged him to work harder and to come back stronger in the team. Continue reading “Callum McGregor expects to make it for Celtic soon”

Ronny Deila is on the journey of reinforcing his team

Ronny Deila has set himself the task of improving his team which can help in their quest of securing the Scottish Premiership title for the 5th successive season and one of the ways that Deila is going to be upgrading his squad is by signing new players to the team.

A few of the players that are rumored to be in the radar of Ronny Deila are Wout Weghorst of Heracles and Eibar’s Aleksandar Pantic.

Aleksandar Pantic is a Serbian defender who is currently performing for SD Eibar on loan from Villareal. Pantic has had a mixed season with Eibar as the central-defender used to be a consistent starter for the club but has recently had to settle with a place on the sidelines as an unused substitute.

If Pantic continues to struggle trying to land a spot in the main team of Eibar, he could be tempted on making a move away from the Spanish club where his chances of landing a role in the first squad is possible to be bigger and better than what it currently is.

Wout Weghorst is another one of the potential targets of Celtic’s Ronny Deila. Weghorst is currently performing for Heracles and at the young age of 23, he has already attracted the attention of other clubs including Cardiff City. Kenny Jackett is expecting to see much more from Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton collected their first 3 points of the season after defeating Blackburn Rovers but Kenny Jackett was not fully convinced by the performances of his players as the manager said that his team still has a lot of other areas where they need to improve on.

Kenny Jackett voiced his thoughts after the victory of Wolverhampton as he said: “To come away to Blackburn and get three points is great but we also feel there is more to come. We had some very good spells of possession and a threat up front’’

“But there were other times when balls into their front man we didn’t follow in and they were turning and shooting too easily with the shooting power they have got. We were disappointed with that and could have done better with those situations defensively’’

Jackett wants to base the playing style of his team around having sufficient possession as this allows the players enough time on the ball for them to play freely and ultimately score goals which is the eventual objective.

Wolverhampton Wanderers snatched the 7th spot of the English Championship League in the previous season but they are now one of the favorites of securing a top position and being promoted to the Premier League.  Kenny Jackett is well aware of all the expectations and pressure that he and his team have to cope with this time around but the English manager is certain that they will be able to live up to all the hype and deliver in the big stage. Dedryck Boyata says that he has moved to the Scottish club

Celtic’s new signing Dedryck Boyata says that he has moved to the Scottish club in order to play regularly in the Champions League.

After managing to win yet another Scottish Premier League title, Celtic will be playing in the European competition in which they have suffered several disappointments over the last decade. Manager Ronny Deila’s priority for the upcoming season will be to do well in Europe and one of the ways he plans to do this is by using players likeBoyata. The Manchester City youth team product has a lot of experience of working with players who deal with two matches every week.

Even though he made only a handful of appearances for City since his debut in 2009, the 24-year-old has amassed enough experience by just training with players like Sergio Aguero and Yaya Touré. Celtic will be paying just £ 1.5 million in transfer fees, but it could rise to £ 2 million depending upon the success of the defender. Even if Celtic do not reach the knockout stages of the Champions League, it is almost certain that they will be part of the Europa league even in the worst case scenario. This is exactly whatBoyata needs at the moment and he is extremely happy to be part of a title winning team. Continue reading “Dedryck Boyata says that he has moved to the Scottish club”

Celtic are on course to achieving success in the league

Celtic are on course to achieving success in the league and cup once again after managing to extend their lead in the Scottish Premier league after a 2-0 win over Partick Thistle.

This victory sees the club have a seven-point advantage and a game in hand in the last two months of the campaign. Such good run of form has seen manager Ronny Deila’s stock rise in the last few months. When the Norwegian came to the Scottish club as the replacement for Neil Lennon, it was feared that Celtic may slide down the table due to the lack of experience from Ronny Deila.

After managing to overturn the initial poor form, Diela is happy to see the results on a consistent basis. However, he has admitted that there was a point in time when he thought about leaving the club. It would have come just a few months after coming into the job, has Deila failed to cope with the pressure of keeping the club in the Champions League and doing well in the league. This has all changed in recent months, as they came very close to reaching the latter stages of the Europa League. The prospect of securing a cup and league double sounds enticing indeed.
